Be Advised

  1. Linguistic (6 credits) select from ENGL 664 or ENGL 564, ENGL 666 or ENGL 566 or ENGL 674.

  2. Distribution (12 credits) complete a culture class, an assessment class, a literacy or vocabulary class, and a course in technology or in second language writing select from ENGL 673 or ENGL 563, ENGL 667 or ENGL 568, ENGL 670 or ENGL 562, ENGL 672 or ENGL 675.

  3. Field Experience: complete ED 541 (1 credit) or ED 649 (3 credits). In consultation with adviser, complete at least 100 hours of supervised field experiences teaching/tutoring English learners, in elementary (grades K-6) middle (grades 5-8) and high school (grades 9-12).

  4. Culminating Project: Internship with portfolio. Complete ED 567 (6 credits) and ED 550 (2 credits), ED 685, with completion of a portfolio. Practicum for additional licensure: complete ED 688, with completion of a portfolio.

  5. Candidates for initial licensure also complete the Professional Education Sequence.

  6. Apply for graduation one semester before you plan to graduate.
