Creative Writing BA program must elect a minor program of study or complete one year of a single foreign language.
Cultural Diversity (3-4 credits): ENGL 202, 203, 215, 216, 302, 305, 414, 432
British and World Literature (3-4 credits): ENGL 202, 205, 321, 322, 323, 325, 326, 327.
American Literature (3-4 credits): ENGL 310, 311, 312, 313, 414, or 454.
Theory & Applications (3-4 credits): ENGL 334, 353, 361, 402, 403, 430, 431, 434, 437, 444 or 447.
Creative Writing I (11-12 credits): ENGL 341, 342, 343, 344, and/or FS 360.
Creative Writing II (5-6 credits): ENGL 441, 442, 443, 446, and/or 447.
English Electives (optional up to 6 credits) of ENGL courses that are 200-level or higher to reach 40 credits. Elective credits are required when the minimum number of credits is completed in one or more of the requirements above.
*ENGL 444 (Internship) is optional.
**ENGL 447 (Harvest) is optional but must be completed across a Fall and Spring series.
All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 120 credits to graduate.
All SCSU students must have at least 40 credits of 300/400 level courses to graduate.
All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 40 credits of Liberal Education courses AND meet the requirements of all 10 goal areas, including RIGR and Diversity.
Apply for graduation one semester before you plan to graduate.
