Demonstrate knowledge of historical roots, philosophical assumptions, ethical considerations, and critical issues in student affairs and higher education.

Demonstrate understanding of student development and counseling theories through application in coursework, practicum, internship, and culminating project (portfolio or thesis).

Integrate theory, practice, and self-reflection (critical praxis) to inform professional actions.

Demonstrate analytical skills and the ability to utilize tools of inquiry such as assessment and evaluation techniques, research methods, critical thinking, and technology to explore, explain, and improve college student development.

Communicate thoughts, views, and analysis verbally and in writing; effectively utilizing APA (7th ed.) style and formatting.
