Degree Map
This is a recommended course sequence based on the current University Catalog for this degree and illustrates how the degree could be completed. Actual plans for individual students will vary based on transfer credits, semester start, advisor recommendations and academic needs.

Be Advised
1. Lower Division Business Core - Group 1 (14 credits) must be completed at the time of application to HBS Upper Division Status.
2. Lower Division Business Core - Group 2 (19 credits) must be completed or enrolled in at the time of application to HBS Upper Division Status.
3. Lower Division Business Core - Group 3 (7 credits) must be completed prior to or after admission to HBS Upper Division Status.
4. HBS 111 may be waived for transfer students.
5. 2.4 GPA and 12 earned credits are required to register for ACCT 291, ACCT 292, BLAW 235, IS 270, MGMT 201, and MKTG 220.
6. A grade of C- or better is required in IS 270.
7. Admission to Upper Division Business Core (15 credits)
a. Only business majors with HBS Upper Division Status or admitted business minors may enroll in 300- and 400-level Business School courses. Department permission is required for all other students. Prior to registering for 300- and 400-level major courses, all business majors must speak with their advisor to confirm that they have completed or attained the following:
i. Cumulative overall GPA: 2.5
ii. 40 earned credits from courses numbered 100 or higher
iii. Completed all Lower Division Business Core – Group 1 courses
iv. Completed or enrolled in all Lower Division Business Core – Group 2 course
v. Grade of C- or better in each of the following courses: MATH 106 or MATH 112.
8. MGMT 497 must be taken in a student’s last semester, after completing the remainder of Upper Division Business Core. Registration for MGMT 497 requires permission from the program’s department.
9. Information Systems Electives (15 credits) select from: IS 301, IS 344 or IS 359 or IS 444, IS 345, IS 363, IS 365, IS 371, IS 372, IS 381, IS 395, IS 445, IS 452, IS454, IS 458, IS 459, IS 473, IS 475, IS 477, IS 483, IS 484, IS 485, IS495, IS 498, IS499.
a. A maximum of 3 credits of IS 344 and IS 359 and IS 444 can count towards elective credits.
b. A maximum of 9 credits of IS 459 can count towards elective credits.
c. IS 443, IS 450 and IS 454 are required for the Business Intelligence certificate.
d. IS 371, IS 372 and IS 483 are required for the Information Assurance certificate.
10. For students interested in pursuing an Information Assurance M.S. degree, IS345 and IS452 are recommended. Contact the program director for information about the 4+1 accelerated program option and recommended courses.
11. All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 120 credits to graduate.
12. All SCSU students must have at least 40 credits of 300/400 level courses to graduate.
13. All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 40 credits of Liberal Education courses AND meet the requirements of all 10 goal areas, including RIGR and Diversity.
14. Apply for graduation one semester before you plan to graduate.
