Analyze the foundations, institutions, and practices of politics in the United States at the local, state, and national level.

Evaluate the structure and operation of the U.S. and other political systems and the complex interrelationships between the political, economic, social, cultural, and historical forces that drive political phenomena.

Analyze the scholarship, analytical methods, and theories of politics in one or more of the discipline's four sub-fields: American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations and Political Theory.

Evaluate political phenomena through critical thinking, political theory, or applied empirical analysis such as survey work.

Communicate competently in written and verbal communication forms consistent with the professional norms and standards of political science.
