Produce oral and written German at the Intermediate Mid level (or higher) as defined in the Proficiency Guidelines of the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages.

Analyze and synthesize authentic sources of information at the Intermediate High level (or higher) as defined in the Proficiency Guidelines of the American Council of Teachers of Foreign Languages.

Apply knowledge of German as a system to engage with unfamiliar contexts so that students become life-long learners.

Demonstrate understanding of the complexity of elements important to members of German-speaking cultures in relation to their current and historical beliefs, practices, and values.

Articulate a complex understanding of cultural differences and critically relate those perspectives to their own cultures.
