This is a recommended course sequence based on the current University Catalog for this degree and illustrates how the degree could be completed. Actual plans for individual students will vary based on transfer credits, semester start, advisor recommendations and academic needs.

Materials and Processes: Students must pass a portfolio review (benchmark) the semester after successful completion of Materials and Processes courses (Art 101, Art 110, Art 111, Art 120, Art 121)). Students have two opportunities to pass the portfolio review.
Studio courses (27 credits) Earn at least 27 credits from: ART 311, ART 340, ART 350, ART 360, ART 370, ART 381, ART 382, ART 383, ART 385. Each Studio course repeatable 3-12 credits.
Projects courses (21 credits) Earn at least 21 credits from: ART 423, ART 443, ART 444, ART 453, ART 473. All courses except for Art 444 can be repeated 3-12 credits. Please contact the department chair for information about how to apply for internship opportunities.
Upper Division Art History (6 credits): complete at least 2 courses: ART 433, ART 434, ART 435, ART 436, ART 437, ART 438, ART 439.
All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 120 credits to graduate.
All SCSU students must have at least 40 credits of 300/400 level courses to graduate.
All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 40 credits of Liberal Education courses AND meet the requirements of all 10 goal areas, including RIGR and Diversity.
Apply for graduation one semester before you plan to graduation.
