This is a recommended course sequence based on the current University Catalog for this degree and illustrates how the degree could be completed. Actual plans for individual students will vary based on transfer credits, semester start, advisor recommendations and academic needs.

Be Advised

  1. Students must pass a portfolio review (benchmark) after successful completion of Materials and Processes courses (ART 101 ART 110, ART 111, ART 120, ART 121). Students have two opportunities to pass the portfolio review.

  2. Studios Course (12 cr.) take four classes from at least three of the following areas (2D, 3D, Digital, Lens): Art 311, Art 340, Art 350, Art 360, Art 370, Art 381, Art 382, Art 383, Art 385. Each studios course is repeatable for 3-12 credits.

  3. Projects Course (9 credits) select from: ART 423, ART 443, ART 453, and ART 473. Each projects course is repeatable for 3-12 credits.

  4. Upper Division Art History (6 credits) select 2 courses from: ART 433, ART 434, ART 435, ART 436, ART 437, ART 438, ART 439.

  5. PSY Core Requirements (14 credits): PSY 115, PSY 119, PSY 200, PSY 201, PSY 202, PSY 380). Take all six (6) courses in order. PSY 119 may be taken concurrently with PSY115 or PSY200/201.

  6. PSY Foundation Courses (15 credits): Earn at least 15 credits from: PSY 240, PSY 250, PSY 270, PSY 327, PSY 353, PSY 378, PSY 386, PSY 490.

  7. PSY Electives (9 credits): Select any Psychology (PSY only) courses. PSY428 may be used for a maximum of 6 credits.

  8. PSY Senior Capstone (3 credits): complete any of the following courses: PSY 401, PSY 429, PSY 430, PSY 432. A Senior Capstone application is requirement. An overall GPA of 2.4 in the major is requirement to enroll in the capstone course.

  9. Psychology BA students must complete either a minor OR a year of foreign language.

  10. 15 Psychology credits in residence is required for graduation.

  11. All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 120 credits to graduate.

  12. All SCSU students must have at least 40 credits of 300/400 level courses to graduate.

  13. All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 40 credits of Liberal Education courses AND meet the requirements of all 10 goal areas, including RIGR and Diversity.

  14. Apply for graduation one semester before you plan to graduate.
