Content Related Elective (18 credits): select 18 credits from ECON, GEOG, HIST, POL or ED with permission of Social Studies Education program director.
If seeking to meet the HLC requirement of the "path to 18" to teach Senior-to-Sophomore or College-in-the Schools courses, all electives must be in the single requirement content area.
For students completing the Economics HLC "path-to-18" requirement: If previous coursework did not include ECON 405, and ECON 406, you must begin by taking ECON 505 and ECON 506. MATH 221 or equivalent is also required.
Social Studies Education Elective (3 credits: select 3 credits from SSE 570, or SSE or ED at the 600 level.
