Be Advised

1. To meet future ASHA Certification Standards, students must take one course in each of the four areas:

• Biological Sciences BIOL 103 (human);

• Physical Sciences (physics or chemistry required) – CHEM 160; PHYS 231

• Social/Behavioral Sciences CPSY 262 or PSY 240 and d) Statistics- STAT 103.

• These should be taken as part of the liberal education requirements. **Statistics can be met at the graduate level if the stats course is a general course. A stats course that is specific to CSD CANNOT count toward the ASHA certification requirement. In graduate school, you will also be required to take a graduate-level stats course.

2. CSD courses cannot readily be switched from the sequence outlined above. CSD courses are typically offered on a one-course, one-section, once-a-year basis, so cannot be switched from spring to fall semester. The sequence outlined has the CSD courses in the right sequence with all the necessary prerequisites.

3. All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 120 credits to graduate.

4. All SCSU students must have at least 40 credits of 300/400 level courses to graduate.

5. All SCSU students must complete a minimum of 40 credits of Liberal Education courses AND meet the requirements of all 10 goal areas, including RIGR and Diversity.

6. Apply for graduation one semester before you plan to graduate.
