Rhetorical principles for analyzing and composing varied genres of workplace writing, such as memos, research reports, letters, manuals, resumes, fliers, newsletters, web pages, presentations, and other public relations materials. 20% Readings on the analysis of composition for different purposes: explanation, persuasion, analysis, reflection.10% Ethical issues in writing for professional contexts. 15% Professional editing skills for evaluating content, style, formatting, readability, and mode of delivery (print or electronic), 15% Methods for analyzing writing situations: styles, conventions, format expectations, and alternatives, 15% Research methods and documentation. 10% Collaborative composition and project management in face-to-face and electronic environments. 15%
