Describe and analyze reactions involving organometallics, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic esters, and carboxylic acids.

Apply their understanding of organic reactions to design multi-step syntheses of small organic molecules.

Perform laboratory experiments that demonstrate common organic transformations. Students will use GC-MS, IR, and NMR instruments to characterize their reaction products.
