Be able to discuss and describe the survey of, and other major issues in the field of historic preservation and heritage studies in United States, as well as, some discussion of world heritage sites and international perspectives.

Be able to identify, describe, and explain the urban planning techniques used for preserving historic buildings, neighborhoods and districts, as well as, some of the landmark legal decisions and legislation that have shaped heritage preservation practice in the U.S.A.
