ECSE Preschool Student Teaching

Model appropriate personal and professional behavior in relationship to self, infants, toddlers, parents and staff.

Communicate, interact and develop appropriate relationships with infants and toddlers who have disabilities.

Administer, score and interpret assessment results in terms of early intervention planning.

Record child observations, conduct parent interviews, and interpret data in terms of early intervention planning.

Plan developmentally appropriate activities that meet individual children’s and family’s needs.

Select appropriate materials for the age, developmental level and/ or disability condition of the children.

Apply a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.

Model the ability to manage behaviors of young children with disabilities.

Communicate and work effectively with parents and staff.

Evaluate all program components, and self-evaluate their own teaching skills.
