Describe the structure and behavior of matter (atoms, molecules and ionic substances) using appropriate models (quantum mechanical, Lewis, VSEPR, etc.). Apply knowledge of chemical structures to intermolecular forces and properties of liquids and solids.

Solve quantitative chemistry problems using appropriate dimensional analysis (including reaction stoichiometry, solution preparation, thermochemical calculations and behavior of matter in the gas phase).
