Accelerate Your Education. Advanced Your Career

Our 4 + 1 programs offer a streamlined path to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in just five years – saving you time and money while preparing you for advanced career opportunities.

This program is ideal for motivated students with clear academic and professional goals who want to deepen their expertise and enter the workforce sooner.

 Why Choose a 4+1 program?

  1. Earn Two Degrees Faster.

    1. Complete both your undergraduate and graduate degrees in five years instead of six.

  2. Start Your Career Sooner.

    1. Enter the job market with a competitive edge – one year earlier than traditional graduate students.

  3. Save on Tuition and Costs.

    1. Take fewer total credits and reduce overall tuition expenses.

  4. Seamless Transition.

    1. Stay at the same institution with familiar faculty, resources, and support systems.

How It Works

  1. Meet with Your Advisor

    1. Discuss eligibility and application steps with your program advisor.

    2. If eligible, Graduate Admissions will issue you an invitation code (Graduate Program Director requests this code for you) and you will submit an application.

  2. Plan Your Courses

    1. Follow your degree audit report and the 4+1 degree map with guidance from your advisor.

  3. Begin Graduate-Level Courses

    1. Start taking graduate-level courses in your senior (fourth) year.

  4. Transition to Graduate Status

    1. In your fifth year, you’ll be a full-time graduate student.

  5. Complete Your Master’s Degree

    1. Finish your graduate program by the end of your fifth year.

Note: If you do not complete your bachelor’s degree on schedule, your graduate admission will be deferred for up to one year.  Failure to complete the bachelor’s degree within that time will result in rescinded admission to the 4+1 program.  You may still apply later for the traditional two-year master’s program.
