MATH 304. Tools of Mathematical Reasoning

Description: Proof techniques; induction, valid arguments, quantifiers; sets and transfinite cardinalities; review of number theory; injective and surjective functions, equivalence relations, partial orders, Boolean algebras; mathematical folklore. A transition to upper-level courses, with the primary emphasis on reasoning and proof.
Prerequisites: MATH 221, MATH 271
