Program Description

The history major is designed to prepare students to be deep thinkers who thrive in a global world. As our students advance through a three-course core sequence, they develop skills critical to historical thinking and contributing to their communities and world. These skills help students confront critical civic problems linked to racial disparities, notions of citizenship, and migration patterns that impact our nation and international relations. Our students learn to comprehend cultural exchanges and historical complexities that are crucial to navigating our interconnected world. At the end of our program, students have developed abilities to conduct research, examine a range of historical perspectives, collaborate in group projects, and present their work to varied audiences.
