Distinguish the major families of vascular plants found in Minnesota.

Use dichotomous keys for identifying plants; gain familiarity the structure and function of keys, their construction, and their limitations.

Demonstrate a working knowledge of the vocabulary needed to accurately identify plants.

Describe plant morphology; utilize and understand botanical terminology to identify plant structures.

Exhibit skills in the field in the areas of site evaluation and description, plant identification and collection, and floristic description.
