Survey relevant theories of global development. 20% Methods typically used in data collection and analysis of social science data. What constitutes good research. 20% Typical problems of core global significance in the world today with particular emphasis on local examples from Minnesota (e.g., refugees, diseases, fair trade). 20% Analysis of qualitative and quantitative data including statistical treatment and results interpretation. 20% Craft of writing research reports and their presentation in public forums (oral talks and posters). 20%
