Description: Selected course topics include screen censorship in the U.S., gay and lesbian cinema, spirit of childhood, science fiction, laughing in tongues (international comedy), and film remakes. May be repeated without repetition of content, to a maximum of 12 credits.

1. Analyze a specific issue or genre of film from an historically-informed perspective.
2. Identify points of controversy and contention in the evolution of the issue or genre of film.
